Ms. Samuelson attended 4 years of undergraduate university at both University of Notre Dame and Indiana University at South Bend. She earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees with High Distinction (Psychology and Sociology), and received many academic scholarships and Honors.

She matriculated into Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. After sitting for the Indiana Bar exam, which she successfully passed, she became a member of the Indiana Bar. Attorney Samuelson was a member of that state’s bar for many years. Cathy worked as a civil litigation intern at ICE MILLER and was a former Staff Attorney for the Marion County Department of Public Welfare in Indianapolis. Additionally, she did private practice work for clients, usually involving projects pertaining to Health-Care law, assisting physicians and others with mergers, acquisitions and employment contracts.

After moving to Florida, Cathy became a certified mediator in several areas and used her skills in County/Family, Real Estate Foreclosure, and Civil Circuit cases. In 2004, she became a member of the Florida Bar. Her career achievements also include serving as inside general counsel and administrator for a multi-million dollar medical/surgical practice. Since that time, Catherine founded Rowan Samuelson Law, PA, a private practice law firm located in Tampa, Florida.

A. A lawyer has two main duties: to uphold the law while also protecting a client’s rights. To carry out these duties, a lawyer should understand the law and be an effective communicator.

A. No. Most lawyers normally spend more time in an office than in a courtroom. The practice of law most often involves researching legal developments, investigating facts, writing and preparing legal documents, giving advice, and settling disputes.
